Marco Rubio
Secretary of State
About
Marco Rubio is the U.S. Secretary of State and former U.S. Senator from Florida (2011-2025). A Cuban-American from Miami, he served as Speaker of the Florida House before his Senate career. He ran for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, where he memorably attacked Trump's hand size before being eliminated. He was among the senators who confirmed a proposed bipartisan border security deal in 2024, only to oppose it days later after Trump criticized it. Confirmed 99-0 as Secretary of State, the only Trump cabinet pick supported by every Democratic senator, he has navigated U.S. foreign policy through a period of significant geopolitical tension including the Russia-Ukraine war and evolving U.S.-China relations.
